It's a...metaphor?

Hi, my name is Amanda. I enjoy drawing in my spare time, taking long walks on the beach, and misunderstanding simple assignments.

Had to make a looping animation that showed depth.

Olddddd work!

This is a collection of older projects done last year that I never got around to posting. Now that I'm drowning in homework, I decided to put them up today. Ha ha.

This one is called "The Noisy Oyster". Task was to fold one piece of paper and then use the same shape at least 50 times. I went for chaos.

This was based off of a screenshot from Spirited Away. The task was to recreate it with pointilism as well as boost up the color intensity. In my humble opinion, it looks like a bag of skittles threw up, but is still one of my favorite paintings. Acrylics.

( It looks much better when it's small. )

Fruit Parade. Acrylic.
Task was to make a color wheel. :)

Boba Fett doodle painted in Watercolor.
This painting disappeared when I sent it back home, so I have to make a better one anyway.

"The Taunting of the Frog" Analogous color schemed painting. Acyclics.

Now that that's over with, I'll have to stop procrastinating and actually work. Oh man. 5 second long repeating animation and a Gothic Architecture test tomorrow. :(

Our entry for the 24-hour animation challenge. It's beautiful. The theme behind it was Power.

Cameraless Animation

A project done working on 16 millimeter film, about 7 feet or more of it. Used sharpies, hole punches, bleach, exacto knives, and a dash of saliva. We weren't allowed to alter its original speed, so that's why this is such a blur. Tried using Adobe Premiere for the first time and I think it's safe to say I hate it with all my might. The song is by Mix Master Mumf, called Mario Remix.

Just kidding

These are old, but this class is stretching into forever.

(I may just find infinity a bit sooner than planned at this rate....)

Callooh, Callay!

Oh frabjous day!

But not really, because finals are just starting and my teachers are all mad as hatters this quarter.

In light of this, here are my not-so-fabulous character sheets for Nessa and Antimony.

Enjoy! (I swear I'll make some real art someday)

Black Rabbits

Here's a sharpie doodle that turned out way cooler than I thought it'd be. Oh scrap pieces of bristol board, could you be the key?

Maquette Time!

So it's been a horrific couple of weeks here at school, my teacher, Gustafson, has been running me into the ground with assignments. graaa. Anyway, here's my maquette I made for his class on characters, layouts, and design. I'll post the character sheets up here too- if I ever find the flash drive they were on. :(

Below you'll find an alarmingly accurate snapshot of my life.

It's been a while!

One of these days I'll update regularly. Right after I start drawing for fun again. Ha.
